Leasing Agent

Summary/Objective:
Paths is seeking a service-oriented Leasing Agent for a residential community in Dallas, TX. The Leasing Agent is responsible for supporting the full leasing process from initial inquiry through move-in, including marketing, resident communication, application processing, collection of required documents, income/eligibility review support, lease paperwork, move-ins, file organization, and day-to-day office support. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with people, can stay organized with paperwork and follow-up, and is comfortable working in a busy residential property environment. Affordable housing experience is strongly preferred, especially experience with programs such as LIHTC, Project-Based Section 8, HUD, income-restricted housing, income calculations, eligibility review, and move-in file preparation.

Essential function/Responsibilities: duties include but are not limited to the following

Leasing and Resident Service

  • Greet prospective residents and provide a welcoming, professional experience
  • Complete guest cards and gather information about housing needs, preferences, and eligibility
  • Conduct property and apartment tours, explaining community features and available units
  • Follow up with prospects and support leasing goals
  • Assist applicants through the application process, collect required documentation, and follow up on missing or incomplete items
  • Help review applicant information for eligibility based on property criteria and affordable housing program requirements
  • Notify applicants of application status and next steps
  • Schedule move-in dates and coordinate move-in details
  • Complete move-in inspections with new residents as needed
  • Maintain a professional and friendly office environment for prospects, residents, vendors, and team members

Administrative and Affordable Housing Support

  • Prepare and complete lease paperwork, addenda, move-in files, and related documents
  • Support application review, income/asset documentation, and eligibility qualification based on property criteria and affordable housing program requirements
  • Support affordable housing compliance processes, including income documentation, file organization, move-in file preparation, and recertification support as needed
  • Accept rents, deposits, and other payments in accordance with company policy
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to resident/prospect questions
  • Organize and maintain reports, leases, resident files, and office paperwork
  • Assist with special projects, reporting, and day-to-day office needs
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies, Fair Housing laws, ADA, FCRA, and other applicable affordable housing requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of leasing, property management, affordable housing, housing assistance, or residential office experience preferred
  • Affordable housing leasing experience strongly preferred, including LIHTC, Project-Based Section 8, HUD, income-restricted housing, income calculations, eligibility review, and move-in file preparation
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Experience collecting applicant documents, reviewing income/asset documentation, and maintaining accurate resident files preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong customer service, organization, follow-up, and communication skills
  • Ability to work professionally with residents, prospects, staff, vendors, and management
  • Comfortable handling paperwork, deadlines, resident questions, and multiple priorities throughout the day
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate files and documentation
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, and affordable housing requirements preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus


Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
