Learning & Development Consultant - (26141552)
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Learning & Development Consultant. This position provides professional development, implementation, and management of training and development, to support the department's mission. Administers, manages, develops and delivers training for the MDT Department statewide and provides professional coaching in one-on-one and group settings to aid employee development. Assists in the formulation of strategic workforce planning initiatives, advises management on performance management, and workforce development. This position travels throughout the state to MDT offices to conduct training with employees, which requires frequent overnight trips. This position reports to the Learning & Development Manager and does not supervise others. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities.

Required Education and Experience:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
This position requires a blend of knowledge, skills, and abilities that span communication, instructional design, interpersonal awareness, and facilitation.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, training methods and presentations techniques and professional development.
Ability to design and implement training courses for a variety of audiences.

Driver's record will be verified. Successful applicants will be required to sign a release form which authorizes the Department to obtain the applicant's permanent driving records. Compliance with Mont. Admin. R. 2.6.201, "State Vehicle Use," and MDT Policy #6.03.001, "State Vehicle Use Policy" are conditions of employment.
The advertised salary includes the $1.00 increase passed by the 2025 MT State Legislature regarding the state pay plan effective July 1, 2026.
