The YMCA is seeking a Food Program Director to lead and manage all aspects of our Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) operations across North Dakota and Minnesota. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local food program regulations while overseeing the day-to-day operations of food service within YMCA Learning Centers. The Food Program Director will provide leadership to food service staff, manage vendor relationships and contracts, oversee food program budgets and reporting, ensure meals meet USDA and Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Program Act (HHFKA) guidelines, and support the growth and sustainability of YMCA food programs throughout the community.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage all CACFP and SFSP operations, compliance requirements, claims, and reporting for North Dakota and Minnesota
- Ensure accurate meal counts, documentation, and program records are maintained through KidKare and other required systems
- Oversee food service operations, meal delivery, special dietary accommodations, and food program activities at Learning Centers and Camp Cormorant
- Ensure menus meet USDA nutrition standards and all state and federal regulations
- Supervise and support Learning Center Food Service staff and the Food Program Delivery Driver, including training and annual compliance requirements
- Coordinate with food vendors regarding contracts, meal counts, food orders, supplies, special diets, and billing
- Manage vendor bids, contracts, invoices, and food service agreements
- Collaborate with Learning Center leadership on annual budgets, projections, reimbursements, and financial reporting
- Conduct site visits, program evaluations, and monitoring activities to ensure quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Lead strategic efforts to expand food program participation and community impact
- Represent the YMCA at required state trainings, community committees, and food program partnerships
- Manage community meal initiatives, outreach programs, and grant reporting as assigned
- At least 21 years old AND
- Bachelor's Degree in a directly related field OR an equivalent combination of directly related experience, training and/or education AND
- 1 year of supervisory experience

- Within 90 days of hire: Sanitation Training, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Training, Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Training, 15 hours of basic childcare training through Child Care Aware, and CPR/FA Certification for Adult, Child, Pediatrics

Shifts Needed: This is an exempt-level role. At times you may be expected to work more than 40 hours per week. The food program operates Monday through Friday.
