LEAD WATER PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER

CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION

CLASSIFICATION TITLE LEAD PARK MAINTENANCE Seasonal

PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION This position is to lead and work with other seasonal employees performing manual labor maintenance and repair work for the purpose of maintaining and repairing Clayton County Parks and Recreation properties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties do not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Be the first to respond in the event of an accident and/or maintenance needed services to access the situation. Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies within assigned areas.

Perform regular checks and inspections of restrooms, trash cans, concession areas, etc. to identify any maintenance that needs to be done.

Performs general grounds maintenance to include: • Grass cutting • Trimming • Edging • Cutting of shrubs • Pruning trees • Landscaping • Grounds and weed control of grounds

Performs garbage policing and control, cleaning of grills, pavilions, park equipment, vehicles, sidewalks, parking lots, policing for litter/debris in and around park lakes, picnic areas, and perimeter areas inside and outside.

Cleaning and upkeep of bathroom facilities.

Also prepares pavilions and buildings for functions, setting up chairs and tables to service the functions, and ensuring clean up during the post-function phase.

Maintains assigned tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance of Park. Performs preventive maintenance and routine repair on tools and equipment as needed. Ensures tools and supplies are properly cleaned, stored, and secured. Maintains order in equipment storage areas, provides information, assistance, and directions to the general public regarding the Park and facilities.

Enforces safety protocols and water park rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Performs other related duties regarding the maintenance of the Park buildings, grounds, facilities, equipment, and structures to ensure the facility is ready each day for the general public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Must possess an original social security card and drivers license or a government-issued photo I.D.

May be required to work up to 32 hours per week. 6 months of previous maintenance experience.

Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to remain alert and focused during shifts. Requires good physical health. Must be comfortable working outside in summer conditions. Must be available for work on weekends and holidays.

Physical Ability Task requires the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work typically involving some combinations of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).

Sensory Requirements Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, or depth.

Environmental Factors Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, fumes, rain, temperature, or noise extremes, machinery vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, or pathogenic substances.
