Duties
Help
Leads marketing staff in daily taskers and assists staff where needed. Designs and develops a variety of publicity materials promoting FSS programs and activities. Prepares illustrations and page layouts for flyers, calendars, signs, posters, menus, newsletters, booklets and brochures. Cuts, laminates and folds all advertising and publicity materials. Receives requests for publicity from managers, marketing manager, and publicists in draft form and uses own judgment to determine appropriate graphics, test and layout. Provides graphic support to all FSS activities. Designs artwork to appeal to a specific target audience such as teens, young adults, families or retirees. Makes recommendations to activity managers on the design of effective advertising and publicity materials, Insures the accuracy of all advertising and publicity materials. Applies current advertising techniques used in the private industry to the development of professional FSS promotions. Maintains current information about activities such as hours of operation, fees and charges, specials and other related information. Determines needed supplies and keeps accurate control of inventory. Prioritizes work requests and maintains records of service provided to customers. Insures graphics equipment in maintained properly and coordinates required repairs. Provides graphic support to web maintainer. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have NAF marketing experience. Must have responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices. Must have experience as a commercial artist or illustrator, which demonstrates the ability to design and layout copy and artwork using PC based desktop publishing and graphic design computer programs. Knowledge and experience of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator) is required. Experience in other layout programs may be acceptable. Knowledge and experience of Word Press, CSS & HTML is highly desirable. Must have ability to read, write, and speak English. Must possess skill in dealing with team members, customers, and the public.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
