Located in the heart of downtown New Haven, Elm City Vet is a modern primary care hospital focused on high-quality medicine, compassionate client care, and a collaborative team culture. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Veterinary Technician to help guide and support our growing hospital team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys leadership, mentorship, patient care, and helping create an exceptional client and team experience.

What You ll Do

  • Lead and support the technician and assistant team during daily hospital operations
  • Assist with workflow coordination and patient care priorities
  • Partner closely with veterinarians and hospital leadership
  • Mentor and train team members while promoting a positive, collaborative culture
  • Support anesthesia monitoring, surgery, dentistry, laboratory work, radiology, and nursing care
  • Ensure high standards of patient safety, cleanliness, and medical quality
  • Help foster an outstanding client experience through clear communication and compassionate care
  • Assist with inventory, equipment oversight, and operational efficiency as needed

What We re Looking For

  • Veterinary technician experience in a fast-paced veterinary setting
  • Leadership or mentorship experience preferred
  • Strong technical and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in busy environments
  • Passion for teamwork, teaching, and continuous improvement
  • CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required depending on experience and state requirements
