Animal Hospital of Lewisville is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician (RVT preferred) to support our small animal general practice. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who is ready to lead by example, strengthen clinical standards, and play a key role in training, workflow optimization, and team development.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
- Perform all core veterinary technician duties, including phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical support
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and treatment plans
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and low-stress handling
- Oversee and support hospitalized patient care and treatment plans
Leadership & Team Development
- Act as a clinical leader and mentor for Veterinary Assistants and Technicians
- Support training, onboarding, and skill development of support staff
- Help elevate team performance through coaching, accountability, and knowledge-sharing
- Lead by example in efficiency, professionalism, and patient care standards
Workflow & Operational Support
- Identify and address workflow gaps in real time, helping improve efficiency and patient flow
- Assist with daily scheduling needs, stepping in to fill gaps where needed
- Partner with hospital leadership to improve standard operating procedures and clinical protocols
- Support inventory, equipment maintenance, and treatment area organization
Client & Team Communication
- Provide high-level client education and support during appointments and discharges
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to ensure seamless patient care
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on collaboration and growth
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience required
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred (North Carolina licensure)
- Advanced proficiency in anesthesia, surgical support, and clinical procedures
- Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring or training team members
- Deep understanding of veterinary workflows, patient care standards, and hospital operations
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and lead in a fast-paced veterinary environment
- Passion for team development, patient care, and continuous improvement

This role offers a pathway into advanced leadership within the hospital, including the opportunity to grow into a Practice Manager or hospital leadership position over time. You will work closely with leadership to gain exposure to operations, team management, and business functions.
This is a full-time leadership role. Scheduling includes flexibility; however, participation in a rotating Saturday schedule is required to support hospital operations and patient care.
