Job Description

If you are looking for a workplace where exceptional veterinary care is paired with heartfelt compassion, our organization could be the perfect fit for you. Situated in the vibrant city of Corvallis, Oregon, we operate as a comprehensive, AAHA-accredited small animal practice and a 24/7 emergency facility. This distinctive combination allows us to tackle intricate cases while adhering to the highest standards of veterinary medicine.

Our Commitment to Quality

At the heart of our mission is a dedication to outstanding medical care. Our modern facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and capabilities for managing complex medical cases. You will have access to an in-house laboratory, digital radiography (including dental imaging), ultrasound, a Snyder oxygen cage, blood products, and a therapy laser. Additionally, we utilize a CO2 laser for various advanced soft tissue surgical procedures. We employ Cornerstone for our electronic medical records to facilitate smooth documentation and workflow.

Team Support and Collaboration

We believe that fostering a supportive environment is essential for delivering excellent patient care. Our veterinarians benefit from a 3:1 support staff-to-doctor ratio, which includes dedicated emergency and ICU technicians to ensure consistent care. Joining our team means becoming part of a collaborative atmosphere that values work-life balance. We also offer a wealth of educational resources and opportunities for professional development, whether you aim to achieve credentialing, step into leadership roles, or access internal specialty consultations.

Life in Corvallis

Corvallis boasts an outstanding quality of life, with the breathtaking Pacific Northwest as your backdrop. Home to Oregon State University, the city combines the intellectual vibrancy of a college town with the warmth of a close-knit community. Nestled in the Willamette Valley, you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities—from kayaking on the Willamette River and hiking the Corvallis-to-the-Sea Trail to exploring local vineyards and the stunning Oregon coast. With a rich arts scene, charming local shops, and a lively Farmers' Market, Corvallis is an ideal place to live, connect with nature, and establish roots.

Your Role as a Medical Lead Veterinarian

This pivotal leadership position will allow you to set the benchmark for clinical quality while promoting a culture of collaboration and growth.

  • Role Model Medical Excellence: You will exemplify the highest standards of medical care, client service, and operational efficiency while also practicing as an associate veterinarian and achieving your own production targets.
  • Drive Hospital Performance: In collaboration with your Practice Manager, you will assist in developing the annual operating plan, managing hospital financial performance towards an EBITDA goal, and ensuring compliance with all medical and DEA regulations.
  • Foster a Culture of Growth: You will lead monthly meetings with doctors to discuss best practices, new services, and medical standards. Additionally, you will supervise externship and mentorship programs and advocate for a culture of recruitment.
  • Be an Ambassador: You will represent your hospital and our mission through community engagement at schools, universities, and local events.
What You Bring to the Team
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and a valid state license in good standing.
  • At least 2 years of practical clinical experience.
  • A servant leadership mindset with a commitment to our core values and the ability to forge strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn about the financial and operational management of a veterinary practice.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, etc.).
  • A passion for being part of a progressive, growth-oriented culture.
