As a designer on the HUE Team, you will help to define the design direction and contribute directly to creating the next generation of user experience on a wide variety of leading-edge products and services. This can include General Aviation, Business, Commercial, and Military aircraft avionics, Space, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), web-based and app-based software, and even virtual reality solutions. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams to develop needs-based solutions, develop personas, conduct user research, define UX metrics and outcomes, and act as a voice for the customer and end user throughout the product development life cycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitating workshops and design sprints across multi-disciplinary teams to develop business cases, product and service design concepts, and defining UX metrics and outcomes
Leading user-centered design initiatives across a wide range of projects
Coaching and developing both designers and stakeholders to define and/or improve experiences across a wide range of offerings
Develop and implement a comprehensive UX strategy aligned with business goals. Advocate for user-centric design principles throughout the organization.
Provide end-to-end UX/UI support for all digital touchpoints that have customer implications across our products, services, and offerings
Conduct user research activities to gain insights into user behavior and preferences. Utilize research findings to inform design decisions and improve user experiences.
Lead the design process from concept to implementation. Manage UX aspects of projects and help to identify solutions to business needs using Figma to develop high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes.
Definition, Design, Development and Maintenance of Design Systems for different types of solutions and applications
Stay informed about design industry trends and best practices in UX design.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's Degree in a Design-related field of expertise (or 10+ years of experience without a degree)
8+ years of experience in User Experience Design, Product Design & Development, and Service Design (with a Design related Degree)
8+ years of experience with creating digital graphical user experiences across both web and mobile devices (with a Design related Degree)
7+ years of experience defining, designing, and maintaining Design Language Systems (with a Design related Degree)

Significant knowledge, understanding, and applied application of human-centered design principles, and leadership and facilitation of design thinking workshops across broader teams with diverse business and technical backgrounds
Experience with leadership, project planning, scoping and execution of projects in a phase-gate and/or Agile/Scrum environment
Proficient with User Research, Ethnography, synthesis of data collected while conducting research to turn insights into user need definitions and UX metrics (acting as the voice of the customer)
Proficient User Experience Design practices, e.g., customer journey mapping, experience diagramming, service diagramming, task flow analysis, low fidelity & high-fidelity GUI design and prototyping, etc.
Fluent with sketching design ideas and using prototyping tools (ex: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with Industrial Design and/or Hardware Design-with and without graphical user interfaces
Familiarity and understanding of front-end development technologies and frameworks; and their impact on design decisions
Familiarity with enterprise-level Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems and platforms
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation skills, and strong networking skills
Excellent collaboration and teamwork attitude
Outstanding Design Portfolio demonstrating application of User Experience Design principles, design concepts and ideation, solving complex problems, providing value to both the business and the customer, and commercialized products that exist in the world

Previous experience designing Human Machine Interfaces for automotive, aircraft, and/or heavy industrial equipment (ex: tractors, combines, bulldozers, etc)
