Purpose Statement:
The job of Lead Trainer/Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of planning, implementing, and overseeing the district's student transportation training and safety program. This role delivers classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Additionally, the Trainer assesses ongoing training needs, maintains audit-ready certification records, and serves as a backup school bus driver to support daily operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: safe driving practices; provisions of the motor vehicle code and the education code applicable to the operation of vehicles transporting school students; state licensing requirements.
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment; using pertinent software applications; operating heaving and light duty vehicles; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job''s functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 25% sitting, 35% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness and in some varying atmospheric conditions.
Experience:
Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required in instructional or training setting for adult education.
