Lead Toddler Teacher, First Free Methodist Church of Seattle dba North Queen Anne Childcare, Seattle, WA: provide developmentally appropriate care and supervision to Pre-K children enrolled at NQACC.
Duties and responsibilities include:
● Plan, prepare and guide age-appropriate play based lessons;
● Implement social-emotional learning and practice activities and universal and individualized social-emotional support practices;
● Plan and lead activities for Early Achievers video documentation and complete written reflections for Early Achievers;
● Participate in ECE research projects by collaborating with research teams and consultancies to facilitate data collection, pilot ad provide feedback on new screening and assessment tools;
● Mentor ECE students working in the classroom to fulfill internship requirements;
● Conduct ongoing assessment of students using an in-house tool based on the Washington Early Learning and Development guidelines;
● Score completed developmental screening tools such as the Ages and Stages Questionnaires and conference with families about results;
● Recognize potty training readiness and partners with families throughout the process;
● Provide continuous supervision of the children and maintain ratio in accordance with licensing requirements;
● Adhere to NQACC’s Behavior Management policy when interacting with the children;
● Monitor children for signs of child abuse and report incidents of suspected abuse to supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School or GED
Experience: 2 years of experience working with toddler-age children
Certificate: completed or in progress to obtain Washington State Initial Certificate

Experience: 5 years of experience working with toddler-age children
SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience must include the following:
● 30 hour child care basics training required by Washington State
● 10 hours STARS training required by Washington State
● 2 years of experience using and scoring a developmental screening tool
● 2 years of experience using a childcare-specific digital platform or application for family communication and activity tracking
● Ability to lift and carry children or other objects weighing up to 50 pounds;
● Ability to use arms, hands, legs and feet with or without support devices to assist classroom in emergencies including evacuation of the building via stairs or windows;
● Ability to hear the conversational voice with or without hearing aids
● Ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses
Experience may be gained concurrently.
