Lead Teacher (Toddler Classroom)
Location: The Learning Experience – Upper West Side, New York, NY
Pay:$20–$23 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (Preferred shift: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM or 9:30 AM–6:30 PM)
The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is growing and is looking for an experienced Early Childhood Education Teacher to join our team as soon as possible. If you're passionate about guiding curious, energetic toddlers through their most exciting developmental years, we'd love to hear from you.
As the Lead Teacher, you'll create a nurturing classroom where children build language, independence, social-emotional skills, and a lifelong love of learning through purposeful play and meaningful interactions.
What You'll Do
- Lead a Toddler classroom with confidence and enthusiasm
- Plan engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Foster children's cognitive, language, physical, and social-emotional development
- Create a structured, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
- Mentor Assistant Teachers and promote teamwork within the classroom
- Build strong relationships with families through ongoing communication
- Maintain compliance with all New York State licensing requirements and center policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or CDA required
- Previous Lead Teacher experience with toddlers preferred
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
