POSITION TITLE:
Lead Teacher - Little Oracles Childcare Center
Wage: $16.00 per hour
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Lead Teacher at Little Oracles Childcare Center is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The Lead Teacher works collaboratively with staff, families, and administration to support the social, emotional, physical, and academic growth of each child while ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations and program standards.
REPORTS TO:
The Lead Teacher reports directly to the Childcare Director.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work effectively with young children and families
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Dependable with consistent attendance
- Ability to pass required background checks, physical, and drug screening
- Meet all state licensing and Paths to Quality requirements
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and student documentation.
- Assist children with personal care and daily routines as needed.
- Use positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistency in classroom expectations and routines.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom updates.
- Ensure compliance with state childcare licensing regulations and program policies.
- Prepare and maintain classroom materials, learning centers, and bulletin boards.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and program information.
- Support meal, nap, playground, and transition routines throughout the day.
- Complete required trainings and maintain certifications as required by licensing and Paths to Quality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.
