Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Lead Central Sterile Technician, you’ll help deliver safe, high-quality care by ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are expertly cleaned, sterilized, and ready to use. With strong attention to detail and by leading through example, you’ll help create a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement that drives excellent outcomes and improves lives every day. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading the preparation, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies, making sure all items are properly cleaned and ready for use 
  • Organizing instruments and equipment based on surgery schedules and special case needs 
  • Monitoring sterilization processes and equipment performance, keeping accurate records, and promptly reporting any issues 
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked workspace that supports the team and upholds the highest infection control standards 
  • Training and supporting team members to work safely, follow best practices, and care for every patient like family 

What qualifications you will need:

  • High School Graduate / GED
  • 1 year of experience

St. David's South Austin Medical Center, is a 368‑bed acute care hospital within St. David’s HealthCare, offering comprehensive specialty and sub‑specialty services.
