Responsible for overseeing the decontamination, assembly and sterilization process of all instruments, inventory of supplies, training of new staff members, and assisting with the coordination of maintenance and service of equipment as needed. Leads daily operations and works proficiently in all activities that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes aligned within IPS professional standards and regulations.
Principal Accountabilities:
Prepares and performs instrument decontamination, assembly and sterilization.
Reports broken equipment, instruments, and patient safety issues to the management team immediately.
Implements the repair process of equipment as necessary with proper notification to management.
Assist with establishing and overseeing the coordination of the turn over required for surgical cases
Responsible for directing and communicating department workflow and Technician work assignments..
Conducts daily spot checks as outlined by the Supervisor and/or QA Manager.
Inventories materials and supplies on a daily basis to insure adequate quantities are available for operations.
