Lead Shuttle Driver – DFW AirportPosition Summary

The Lead Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from designated airport locations while providing excellent customer service. This role also supports daily operational oversight by assisting in the coordination of shuttle driver activities, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and serving as a point of contact for drivers and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate shuttle vehicles safely and efficiently in a fast-paced airport environment
  • Transport passengers between terminals, parking areas, and designated locations
  • Ensure timely route coverage and adherence to schedules
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers with directions, luggage, and general inquiries
  • Act as a lead point of contact for shuttle drivers during assigned shifts
  • Support training and onboarding of new drivers
  • Monitor team performance and communicate issues to management
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, airport rules, and company policies
  • Assist with dispatch coordination and route adjustments as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL with Passenger Endorsement preferred or required, depending on contract)
  • Clean driving record with ability to pass MVR screening
  • Previous shuttle driving or commercial driving experience preferred
  • Prior leadership or lead experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Work is performed outdoors and within airport terminals
  • Must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Fast-paced, high-traffic environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
  • Ability to assist passengers with luggage (lifting up to 50 lbs)
  • Frequent entering/exiting of vehicle
