The OpportunityUlteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lead SCADA Engineer working in the Automation, Integration, and System Protection (AISP) Department. The Lead SCADA Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, installing, and testing automation systems that bring together multiple sub‑systems to meet the operational and regulatory needs of the owner. The Lead SCADA Engineer will be able to develop and implement logic for complex custom applications.What You'll DoCreate SCADA point lists, remote terminal unit (RTU) programs, human‑machine interfaces (HMIs)Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs) & Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for renewable and power utility clientsDevelop complete design packages for site network and SCADA communication architectures compliant with client and regulatory requirementsMaintain positive client relationships, responsive both internally and externally, with frequent client interactionTypically perform work with the following technologies and platforms:Remote Terminal Unit: SEL‑RTAC, Novatech OrionLX+HMI: Web‑based GUIs (Inkscape, SEL Diagram Builder); Ignition is a plusTroubleshooting: Putty, Wireshark, SEL‑QuicksetWhat We Expect from YouBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; ABET-accredited program or equivalent requiredProfessional Engineering (PE) license required7–9+ years of relevant experience is requiredDemonstrates proficiency and working knowledge of communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, etc.) and internet network architecturesNetwork design experience and implementation; networking/IT certifications like Cisco Certified Network Associate a plusMicrosoft software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)Applies current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasksDevelops plans, specifications, and observation reports to ensure these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with sound engineering practicePractices efficiency engineering as it pertains to design selectionRecommends alterations to development and design to improve qualityWorks closely with engineering technicians and experienced electrical engineersPerforms detailed engineering design and evaluations within specialtyTakes ownership of qualityCoaches and mentors othersResponsible for completing tasks and projects in the allotted timeUnderstands actual time required for most tasks and helps develop the project schedulePrepares reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projectsMay participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within an assigned marketDemonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitudeWilling to travel 15–20% of the yearEffectively communicates and interacts with clients to ensure we are meeting their needsWorks closely with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projectsMust have a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain prior to starting dateMust have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.What You Can Expect from UlteigUlteig is a purpose‑driven organization that has built a culture focused on people – both our clients and our employees – for over 80 years.
