Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Plumbing Technician to oversee residential plumbing projects and serve as a technical expert in the field. This role leads the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems while ensuring high-quality workmanship and an exceptional customer experience.
Primary responsibilities include water heater replacements, water filtration and treatment systems (including reverse osmosis and softeners), and other residential plumbing upgrades. This position also provides cross-functional support on HVAC-related tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform installation, maintenance, and repair of residential plumbing systems, including water heaters and water treatment solutions.
- Serve as the on-site project lead, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, on time, and to company standards.
- Train, mentor, and support the development of junior technicians and apprentices.
- Diagnose complex plumbing issues and deliver effective long-term solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding system issues, solutions, and preventative maintenance.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades or additional services that align with customer needs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to maximize system performance.
- Maintain accurate job documentation, service records, and material usage.
- Uphold safety standards and maintain clean, organized job sites.
Qualifications
- 5 years of residential plumbing experience; lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong expertise in water heaters, filtration systems, and water treatment solutions.
- Proven ability to train and mentor others in a field environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with software such as Microsoft Office, ServiceTitan, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
- Willingness to pursue continued education or certifications (e.g., State Plumbing License, Journeyman Certification, EPA Certification, Water Treatment Certification).
- OSHA and CPR certifications preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced knowledge of residential plumbing systems, codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage projects and adapt in dynamic jobsite environments.
- Physically capable of working in confined or challenging conditions.
Technical Expertise
- Skilled in pipe fitting, cutting, threading, and welding using manual and power tools.
- Experience with modern plumbing technologies, including tankless water heaters, smart water systems, and eco-friendly fixtures.
- Proficient with plumbing tools and diagnostic equipment, including video inspection tools.
- Knowledge of proper sanitation and safe waste disposal practices.
- Ability to identify customer-focused upgrade opportunities.

The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
