Summary of Position:

This position is under direct supervision of the Project and Facilities Director. The incumbent will be responsible for plumbing installations and repairs. Lead plumber will be well-organized and detail oriented. You should have good customer service skills, be able and willing to give and follow instructions, and be prepared to travel to clients' homes to complete your work.

 

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Work is performed in an outdoor environment. Incumbent shall be exposed to those conditions normally encountered in an outdoor environment. Physical demands consist of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds and/or utilizing a hand dolly to move up to 160 pounds. Incumbent frequently works near moving mechanical parts, occasionally works in high, precarious places, and can be exposed to electrical shock. Incumbent wears personal protection-protective footwear and equipment. Incumbents must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction, and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood. Incumbent must have the stamina to work long hours and overtime, if assigned, and must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or varying shifts. Includes after-hours On-call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A certification as a qualified journeyman plumber from the state of New Mexico
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis and sustain prolonged walking and standing.
  • 2 years of experience in commercial and residential plumbing.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo's liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check including FBI, State, Tribal, MVR, and new hire drug screening.
