Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Physician Assistant - Education/Fellowship Director - Manhattan.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamicAdvanced Practice Provider (APP) to lead the education mission of the APP group within the Emergency Department at NYU Langone Health (Perelman and Cobble Hill). In collaboration with departmental and institutional leadership, the Lead of APP Education is responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of educational programming for Advanced Practice Providers. The Lead will oversee all aspects of the Emergency Department’s APP Fellowship Program; all initiatives involving APP students in the Department; and continuing education and professional development to ensure that APPs maintain clinical excellence, competency, and alignment with evidence-based practice.
The Lead of APP Education and Fellowship Program Director will report directly to the Vice Chair of Education, the EM APP Manager, and the Medical Director of the APP group in the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine.
Job Responsibilities:
APP Fellowship Program:
·Oversee full cycle of APP fellowship administration including recruitment, budgeting, and onboarding.
·Lead and innovate educational initiatives, including curriculum development, direct teaching, implementation, and program evaluation for the fellowship program
·Oversee and ensure ongoing, current, and evidence-based multi-source learner assessment for fellows
·Monitor APP fellow supervision at all clinical sites
·Lead a team of clinical instructors in the delivery of high-quality educational content across didactic and simulation-based training modalities
·Coordinate fellows’ clinical assignments and rotations among various sites/services within and outside the emergency department ED and throughout the NYULH system
·Providementorship and guidance for fellows, ensuring their professional and academic development
·Mentor fellows’ scholarly activities
·Ensure program regulatory compliance with all institutional, regulator, and/or accreditation standards
Student and Staff Education:
·Oversee the placement, coordination, supervision, didactic education, evaluations, and support of pre-APP, and APP-students in the department
·Liaise with PA and Nursing Schools to further innovate educational partnerships and training pathways for students
·Partner with the Lead APP- Business Administration and department leadership to align education initiatives with operation and staffing needs
·Oversee continuing education opportunities for staff APPs employed within the Perelman ED
·Engage in staff development through structured feedback on clinical teaching where applicable
General Leadership Responsibilities:
·Present program updates and educational initiatives at APP leadership, monthly APP and monthly departmental education meetings
·Support quality improvement initiatives through education (including case reviews, chart audits, and feedback loops) and respond to inquiries from clinicians and leadership about care quality/ case review
·Collaborate with key stakeholders at NYULH for educational programming (e.g., NYSIM, institutional APP leadership)
·Liaise with and represent NYULH at institutional, regional, and national APP leadership and educational forums
·Assist with departmental regulatory reviews by The Joint Commission, Department of Public Health, and other agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA)
3 years experience as an Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider
Current New York State Physician Assistant License
NCCPA Board Certification
Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
Required Licenses: Physician Assistant Lic-NYS, Ntl Com Cert Physician Asst, Basic Life Support Cert
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on your selected privileges.
Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $148,463.51 - $178,963.51 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
