The Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) will provide and direct technical leadership for systems engineering for the Cascade program. This role requires a strong background in communications systems, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional collaboration, along with the ability to support internal teams and external customers in a dynamic defense environment.Essential Functions:Serve as the technical lead for systems engineering activities in support of the programDirecting and being responsible for System engineering work on the programProvide technical guidance and support across design, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment activitiesIdentify problems and opportunities, assess impacts, and determine appropriate corrective actionsPerform root cause analysis and develop effective, practical solutions to complex technical issuesCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, program management, operations personnel, and customersSupport unfamiliar or challenging assignments with a proactive, solutions‑oriented approachWork closely with the Project Engineer (PE) and Program Manager (PM) to ensure alignment on technical priorities and executionEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with external customersLead networking system designs for next‑generation communication products and systemsPrepare and deliver technical briefings for leadership and customersDrive continuous improvement, applying lessons learned from programs to future designsOversee product development technical activities and system integration activities to ensure designs are technically sound and meet system level requirementsWillingness and ability to travel 4–6 times per year, including occasional weekend travelQualifications:Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
