Job Summary
Alphabets Montessori School is seeking a passionate and qualified Lead Montessori Teacher for our Primary (3–6) classroom. The Lead Teacher will create a prepared Montessori environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of children ages 3–6 while meeting Maryland child care licensing standards. 


Responsibilities


  • Implement an authentic Montessori curriculum for children ages 3–6
  • Prepare and maintain a structured, engaging Montessori classroom environment
  • Observe, document, and assess each child’s developmental progress
  • Develop individualized learning plans based on observation and assessment
  • Guide children’s behavior using positive guidance and Montessori principles
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom support staff
  • Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress
  • Ensure health, safety, and supervision standards are met at all times
  • Complete lesson plans, progress reports, and required classroom documentation
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program improvement initiatives
  • Support smooth transitions for children entering and exiting the Primary program
Qualifications


  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Meets Maryland Lead Teacher qualification requirements
  • Montessori Certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience with children ages 3–6 preferred
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Must pass background check and health clearance as required by Maryland licensing
