POSITION SUMMARY:

Good Neighbor Community Health Center is hiring a Lead Medical Office Specialist to support daily front office and call center operations while helping guide and train the Medical Office Specialist team.

This role works alongside front office staff while serving as a resource for questions, workflow support, patient service, and team development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Help coordinate daily front office and call center operations
  • Support, train, and mentor Medical Office Specialist team members
  • Assist with customer service coaching and workflow questions
  • Help monitor productivity, quality, and front office efficiency
  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer and transfer phone calls
  • Schedule new and follow-up appointments
  • Verify and update patient information in the medical record
  • Collect co-pays and payments at the time of service
  • Assist with payment plans and daily bank deposits
  • Help resolve patient concerns and escalate issues when needed

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, hospital, dental office, or healthcare front office setting

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Strong computer, EHR, and data entry skills
  • Ability to support and guide team members professionally
  • Ability to handle cash and complete basic math accurately

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing
  • Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office
  • Knowledge of Patient Centered Medical Home and Meaningful Use
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills
