Lead Maintenance Technician

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician for one of our client’s teams at (1) of their properties in Vero Beach, FL (32967). The ideal candidate will have general maintenance knowledge, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. This role will mostly be working on make ready/unit turns, but will need to be able to handle work orders as needed. HVAC/EPA experience is required – certifications or ability to get certifications within 60 days of conversion is also required. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion) or can go direct hire with the right candidate.

This role will be working with 168 affordable housing units and 11 buildings.

Salary: $25/hour DOQ.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 830am – 530pm. On-call will be applicable – every 3-4 weeks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors, and other parts of the building.
• Maintains the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick-up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas.
• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
• Install, repair (including soldering) and maintain various plumbing; heating and air conditioning fixtures; perform metal fabrication and welding.
• Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g. washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets/drains, repair/replace leaking faucets, remove/replace caulking, replace different components of toilets, adjust/replace door closures, and replace locks, deadbolts, and passage locks.
• Always demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance – preventative maintenance, work orders, unit turns and appliance troubleshooting/repair.
• HVAC/EPA experience is required – certifications or ability to get certifications within 60 days of conversion is also required.
• Be able to pass a background check before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
