The Clinic Lead LPN works under the supervision of Clinic Manager and under the direction of the provider. The Lead Clinic LPN accepts responsibility for direction of the nursing staff in the implementation of patient care according to organizational policies and procedures.

Skills and Abilities
Essential Technical/Motor Skills
- Ability to speak articulately to patients, physicians, and co-workers.
- Must demonstrate precise eye/hand coordination and fine motor skills for IV procedures, pulse checks, blood pressure checks, injections, etc.
- Assist and educate nursing staff to operate office equipment.
Interpersonal Skills
- Displays a friendly, positive attitude and communicates with patients, families, physicians and co-workers in a professional manner.
- Ability to communicate in verbally and written.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to move/lift patients in wheelchairs to exam tables, to push/pull equipment, walking, standing, crouching, stooping, bending.
- Must move, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and lift. Must follow good body mechanics.
Essential Mental Abilities
- Ability to collect thorough information regarding patient''s condition and evaluate effects of care; must be able to visually inspect patient''s condition.
- Problem solve, manipulate numbers, adaptability, interpret data, calculate, comprehend, understand, explain, assess, evaluate short term and long term memory.
Essential Sensory Requirements
- Ability to visually assess patient condition; must be able to communicate with patient in order to assess condition and evaluate effects of care.

Exposure to Hazards
- Needles, cuts, back injury, body fluids, blood, punctures, scratches, physical injury from combative patients, radiation exposure, blood products, road and weather hazards when driving required.
- Infection/disease exposure from patients, visitors, and co-workers.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Greets and prepares patient for provider examination and treatment. Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Observes, records, and reports patient's condition to provider.
- Assists provider with procedures and properly maintains equipment before and after procedures.
- Engages in patient/family teaching to achieve the desired patient outcome.
- Monitors the scheduling of patients, answers patient inquiries, and maintains timely flow of patients.
- Arranges for patient referral testing at other facilities or specialty care.
- Communicates with Clinic Manager and Medical Director to advise of any medical, nursing, risk management or patient satisfaction issues.
- Assigns patients and assesses nursing staffing during personnel call-ins, low workload, or staffing emergencies. Assists with patient assignment to provide skill level needed to care for patients.
- Performs clinical interviews and recommends other nursing staff to the Clinic Manager.
- Oversees the delegation of specifics of patient care to nursing staff.
- Evaluates LPN and techs yearly for competencies and performance on clinical skills.

Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program - Required
Work Experience
- 2 Years - Acute care nursing - Required
- 2 Years - Office nursing experience - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- LPNIV - Lpn Iv Cert - State of Missouri or Kansas, depending upon designated work location - Required within 90 Days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days

- Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required
