The Core Lab Lead Technologist collects and prepares specimens and performs laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Verifies, records and reports lab results in an accurate and timely manner on all performed tests. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies and laboratory procedures, including maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment, instruments and work area. In addition to MLT/MT responsibilities will serve as a lead technologist for the Core Lab. Will also have primary responsibility for instrument operation, maintenance, quality control and compliance with all regulatory standards pertaining to Core Lab.
What you will do in this role:
You will serve as Lead Tech for the appropriate lab section
You will have primary responsibility for instrument operation and maintenance, quality control, and compliance with all regulatory standards
You will handle specimen processing, pre-analytic inspection of specimens for identification and integrity.
You will perform various types of laboratory test(s) on patient specimens, evaluates test results, and report/enter/verify test results in Laboratory Information System.
You will evaluate new and/or modified procedures, reagents and instruments as directed by Section Coordinator. Troubleshoots all instruments as directed by Section Coordinator.
You will communicate laboratory test knowledge and test results in a professional and appropriate manner.
What qualifications you will need:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree; Graduate from a NCCLS accredited Medical Technologist program.
5 years clinical experience required
