This position performs a variety of advanced repairs, installations, and maintenance for all irrigation systems associated with the University including the smart irrigation systems. Performs complex electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative and routine maintenance on irrigation systems. Layouts and install new or renovated irrigation systems.About This Role
The lead irrigation technician exists to provide grounds maintenance support for the campus with emphasis on irrigation and to manage (lead) other irrigation tech(s).
About Us
The role of the Landscape Services is to provide a safe, functional and aesthetically pleasing exterior environment for the students, faculty and staff of K-State. The department is responsible for the maintenance and installation of over 250 acres of turf grass, shrubs, trees and annual flower beds on campus.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skill in use and operations of tools, machines and equipment commonly used in plumbing and electrical work at the skilled craft level.
- Eighteen months experience in performing irrigation work and institution grounds experience.
- Familiarity with campus operations, landscaping design, and contractor coordination.
