Maintenance Technician Lead

Purpose of the Job

Coordinate and direct maintenance personnel and activities. Works in conjunction with Maintenance Supervisor and Production Manager in the direction of maintenance personnel.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out directions from the Maintenance Supervisor. Communicate and coordinate maintenance activities with the Production Manager. Assist in determining work priorities, planning, scheduling, assigning and reviewing work.

Provides guidance and instructions to other mechanics in their daily activities and has lead responsibility for special projects.

Trouble shoot production line equipment issues with other Mechanics when called. Diagnose problems.

Determine corrective action.

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports documenting the activities and work performed by the maintenance department. Including all equipment repairs from breakdowns, work orders or PMs. Assist in maintaining the Maintenance Office and departmental records.

Work on Project List assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

Supervisor and direct service contractors in the plant.

Provides break or vacation relief for other mechanics in their absence.

Performs all work in accordance with established GMP and safety procedures.

Responsible for overseeing Down Day activities and Plant lockdown for the weekend. Wear company pager for emergency call outs over the weekend.

Education and Experience

High School Diplomas or GED.

Knowledge and Skill Level

Able to follow blueprints and other technical instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in

situations where only a limited standardization exist. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.

Able to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. .

Working knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts and operating safety.

Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in electrical, electronic, and mechanical trades.

Must be able to identify and report or correct any food safety and food security concerns.

Scope of the Job

Functions as an ASST MAINTENANCE SUPV. by directing the work of others. Makes decisions regarding assignments of Maintenance Technicians

when the supervisor is not present.
