Lead Field Service Technician - Direct-to-Object Printing

We are seeking an experienced Lead Field Service Technician who thrives in a customer-facing environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. This position is ideal for a highly skilled electro-mechanical professional who can independently install, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize advanced digital printing systems while serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers around the world.

What Youll Do As a Lead Field Service Technician, you will serve as one of LSINCs primary technical experts in the field, supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

Technical Leadership: Utilize advanced electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills to diagnose, repair, and optimize direct-to-object digital printing equipment. Serve as a technical resource for complex service issues and assist in identifying long-term corrective actions.

Installation & Commissioning: Lead equipment installations, startup activities, calibrations, and customer acceptance testing to ensure successful deployment and operation of LSINC equipment.

Customer Training & Consultation: Deliver comprehensive training to customers on equipment operation, preventative maintenance, digital file preparation, workflow optimization, and production best practices.

Advanced Problem Solving: Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment issues and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Applications teams to recommend corrective actions and product improvements.

Field & Remote Support: Independently manage customer service activities, including on-site support, remote troubleshooting, scheduling, and travel coordination while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed service reports, troubleshooting records, and customer communications. Assist in developing service procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices documentation.

Mentorship & Team Support: Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing to less experienced technicians and support cross-functional teams with technical expertise when needed.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in product testing, validation efforts, and field evaluations to help improve equipment reliability, serviceability, and customer experience.

What Were Looking For

Strong customer relationship management and communication skills. Advanced electro-mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Ability to independently troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software-related issues. Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage customer-facing service situations with professionalism and confidence. Strong technical documentation and reporting skills. Willingness to travel extensively, including domestic and international travel.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of field service, industrial maintenance, technical support, or related electro-mechanical experience. Experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting industrial equipment, automated machinery, digital printing systems, packaging equipment, robotics, CNC equipment, or similar technologies. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and remote support tools. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. U.S. Citizenship verified through E-Verify.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting industrial inkjet or digital printing equipment. Knowledge of color management, RIP software, workflow automation, or print production environments. Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, motion control systems, sensors, pneumatics, and industrial networking. Military technical experience in electronics, aviation maintenance, communications, or related specialties. Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, engineering technology, or a related field.
