Job Description SummaryAs a contributing member of the LOCA, Containment & Stability Analysis Team, you will perform safety analysis for plant thermal-hydraulic stability, plant noise, Power Range Neutron Monitor (PRNM) stability interface, and other analyses supporting reload applications for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) plants, including currently operating BWR plants as well as new plants (BWRX, Natrium) operating or planned worldwide.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesPerform plant thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, and other safety analyses with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques.Perform fuel project tasks including reload analyses, Stability methods implementation, new fuel design and introduction, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues.Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engage with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions.Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers.Provide technical mentoring to support team development and knowledge management, including procedure development and adherence.Develop/deliver training course offerings in support of external commercial requests, as well as for internal audiences for knowledge management, and knowledge capture and transfer.Lead team process improvements to drive speed and simplification.Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 1 year of experience in plant T-H Stability Safety Analysis.Eligibility RequirementsThe preferred work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.Desired CharacteristicsExperience in BWR Plant T-H Stability analyses & methods, including plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, stability setpoints methodology, and frequency and time domain methodologiesM.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T-H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systemsExperience with BWR technology and BWR Stability analysis to support applicable regulatory requirementsKnowledge of plant operational support in the Stability areaKnowledge of reactor licensing requirementsExperience with BWR simulator and use of 3-D neutron kinetics (e.g., PANAC)Experience with BWR/PWR T-H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP, & TRACEExperience with Best Estimate and CSAU applicationsProgramming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHONDemonstrated high energy and the ability to energize othersHonest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrityWork easily and communicate effectively within a team environmentSeeks simple solutions to complex problemsDetail oriented and accountable for completion of work and assignmentsClearly and confidently communicates based on deep understandingCommunicates in an open, candid, clear, and consistent mannerLegacy of delivering on commitments; tenacious, with a proven track record of overcoming obstacles.
