The Lead Engineer - Protection and Control oversees electric system protection technology for transmission and substations across Maine and New York, ensuring system reliability, safety, and compliance with standards such as IEC, IEEE, NERC, and state regulations.
Key responsibilities include guiding protection system design, testing, and commissioning; developing and integrating new technology platforms; analyzing operational issues and fault events; and providing technical leadership and mentorship within the Protection Engineering group.
Qualifications require a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred), 7+ years of protection engineering experience, and knowledge of power system standards and regulatory compliance.
