    Lead Engineer - Product Design EngineerAre you passionate about being part of a successful team?Join Our Power Systems & Control Engineering Team!Partner with the bestThe Lead Engineer - Product Design Engineer is responsible for driving the design and development of power converters, power inverters, associated gate drivers, and power control algorithms for Industrial Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) used in the energy extraction market.This role requires deep expertise in power electronics, including AC-to-DC and DC-to-AC conversion technologies, power section architecture, fault management, and advanced control systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that deliver reliable, efficient, and high-performance drive systems for demanding industrial applications.As a Lead Engineer - Product Design Engineer , you will be responsible for:Defining and validating power converter and inverter architectures, subcomponents, and performance characteristics for industrial applicationsLeading analytical and design activities using established power electronics methodologies and technologiesDeveloping gate driver designs to ensure optimal performance and reliability of power electronic systemsCreating fault detection, protection, and signaling schemes to enhance system diagnostics and fault mitigation capabilitiesSupporting the design and development of advanced power control algorithms for industrial variable speed drive applicationsCollaborating with engineering teams to validate power section performance, reliability, and manufacturabilityCommunicating technical strategies and recommendations to senior leaders and cross‑functional teamsContributing to the development of technical documentation, white papers, and design guidelines related to power electronics systemsWorking closely with supply chain and commercialization teams to support successful product introduction and lifecycle managementDriving innovation in power conversion technologies while ensuring compliance with quality, reliability, and performance requirementsFuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:Have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related engineering disciplineDemonstrate strong experience in power electronics design, including AC-to-DC and DC-to-AC conversion systemsPossess expertise in power converter and inverter architecture development and validationHave experience developing gate drivers, fault detection systems, and protection schemes for power electronic applicationsDemonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and system‑level design capabilitiesBe able to effectively communicate technical concepts and influence cross‑functional stakeholdersHave experience working collaboratively across engineering, product development, and supply chain organizationsDesired CharacteristicsProficiency with Altera FPGA design toolsStrong experience using MATLAB/Simulink and associated toolsets including:SimPowerSystemsSimscapeModel Predictive Control ToolboxFuzzy Logic ToolboxStateflow ToolboxRobust Control ToolboxNeural Network ToolboxExperience with LabVIEW and optimization tools such as AMPL and CPLEXKnowledge of simulation and power systems analysis tools including:PowerWorld SimulatorPSIMPSCADETAPSABERProficiency in C programming languageKnowledge of intelligent, advanced, and model‑based control techniquesDemonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions in complex power electronics and industrial drive applicationsWork in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
