Job Description Summary The Lead Engineer – Configuration Management is a key contributor to the team responsible for development and maintenance of system, tool, documentation and data control processes and procedures that support quality program requirements and project delivery requirements for commercial nuclear power plants. The role develops project conventions, guides, administers accounts, provides product structure support, and controls and manages design process data with engineering software tools.Job Description Roles and ResponsibilitiesThis role provides direction and assistance to the Engineering teams to meet assigned configuration management objectives. As the Lead Engineer – Configuration Management you will:Lead in selection of a CM information system (CMIS), procurement, maintenance, interoperability, and interfacing with a common data environmentDefine and support nuclear industry configuration management practices, document management, and change control processes for new commercial nuclear power plant projectsDrive specification, development, implementation, and operation of assigned CM processes consistent with GVH and regulatory requirementsDevelop in-depth knowledge of CM processes and tools for nuclear plant projects, coordinate GVH project CM processes with other organizationsManage the process to establish initial configuration control that matches Physical Facility Configuration, Facility Configuration Information, and Design Requirements for a fleet of Small Modular Reactors as they complete the Construction Phase of development.Manage the change management process responsible for confirming that Physical Facility Configuration, Facility Configuration Information, and Design Requirements match for a fleet of Small Modular Reactors.Assist with engineering configuration management implementation activities inside GVH, in partnership with Information Technology (IT) and support CM interface activities at suppliersMaster the project Information Management System and engineering design tool suites necessary to maintain CM equilibrium.Coordinate project CM processes and tools with those of major suppliersSupport Engineering and Project Management in planning, assessment, reporting and tracking activities and in preparation of related presentations and reportsWork within a diverse team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission successPerform work in compliance with policies and proceduresSupport GVH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, and initiating and responding to Corrective ActionsProvide on-time, quality delivery of documentation packages in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelinesRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in technical discipline, business or other disciplineMinimum 5 years of experience in an engineering or configuration management positionMinimum 3 years of demonstrated practice of CM standardsDesired CharacteristicsCM certification (CMII, CMPIC, etc.)Experience on standing up CMIS, maintenance, and interfacingExperience in a role interfacing with customers, regulators and/or suppliersWorking knowledge of codes, standards & regulations related to nuclear power plantsKnowledge of and experience with Configuration ManagementEngineering plant modeling activitiesKnowledge of and experience with engineering design and design process tools such as Doors Next Gen, SmartPlant, 3KeyMaster or other similar design tools, and with software systems QA requirementsQuick learner, able to sort through information and make timely and sound decisionsDemonstrated project management skillsOpen communication style and proven ability to develop team relationshipsKnowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, and customersExperience with GE documentation system, practices, and requirementsDetail oriented and accountable for completion of work and assignmentsSelf-starter with a positive, can-do attitudeClear thinker; communicates messages clearly and conciselyThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
