Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking an AI Enablement Architect to join their team. As an AI Enablement Architect, you will be part of the Engineering Enablement Department supporting software development and training initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, innovative thinking, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Rockville, Maryland or Tysons VA (Hybrid 3 days on site)

Pay Range: $86/hr W2

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Technical AI Architect to design, implement, and scale AI-driven solutions across the enterprise. This role sits at the intersection of advanced machine learning, cloud architecture, and business enablement. The ideal candidate will not only architect robust AI systems, but also help guide teams through AI adoption by contributing to enablement, education, and instructional rollout efforts.

• Key Responsibilities
• • Design, architect, and oversee end-to-end AI/ML solutions, including data pipelines, model development, deployment, and monitoring
  • Define AI architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical AI solutions
  • Evaluate and select appropriate models, frameworks, and tools (e.g., LLMs, classical ML, MLOps platforms) based on use case and constraints
  • Lead architectural decisions related to cloud-based AI infrastructure, performance optimization, and cost management
  • Support AI lifecycle management including experimentation, versioning, model validation, and production deployment
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering and data science teams
  • Partner with security, compliance, and legal teams to ensure responsible and ethical AI usage
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies, trends, and industry best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or solutions architecture, with significant focus on AI/ML systems
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying machine learning or AI solutions in production environments
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in AI (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)
• Experience with modern ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face)
• Solid understanding of data architecture, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS experience, including architecting and deploying AI/ML solutions using services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, Glue, S3, IAM, and related cloud-native tooling
• Experience with AI enablement, teaching, or instructional rollout, such as:
• • Designing or delivering AI training sessions, workshops, or internal learning programs
  • Supporting organizational AI adoption through documentation, playbooks, or best-practice guides
  • Acting as a technical evangelist or advisor for AI capabilities and responsible usage
  • Experience with MLOps practices and tooling (CI/CD for ML, monitoring, model governance)
  • Familiarity with generative AI, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI orchestration patterns
  • Exposure to multiple cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) in addition to AWS
  • Previous experience in a consulting, enterprise, or platform-scale environment
