In addition, this position will support the glass shop, melt equipment and other high-voltage electronics throughout the facility and perform technician duties on an as-needed basis.Essential FunctionsTechnical ExpertiseProficient knowledge of National Instruments Labview software with experience in programmingExperience designing and developing diode laser driver circuits, preferably >100A currentsProficient knowledge in laser design, critical performance parameters, test equipment and design verificationCapable of Analog and Digital System Architecture for the electronics controlling diode lasers and photodetection circuitryComponent selection to minimize electronics size and power draw while maximizing reliabilityProvide technical guidance and support to the engineering teamEnsure engineering practices align with industry standards and best practicesStay updated with the latest technologies and incorporate them into projectsQuality ControlImplement and maintain quality control processesEnsure all engineering work meets or exceeds company and regulatory standardsConduct technical reviews and audits to ensure project qualityCollaboration and CommunicationCoordinate with other departments (e.g., Product Development, Marketing, Sales) to align engineering efforts with business goalsCommunicate engineering progress and challenges to senior managementRepresent the engineering team in meetings and presentationsResource ManagementManage engineering budgets and ensure cost-effectivenessProcure necessary tools, software, and equipment for the engineering teamEnsure efficient use of resources and materialsAbility to develop and make technical presentations to L3Harris groupsDemonstrates ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company valuesPerforms job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and proceduresAbility to gain security clearanceQualificationsBachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience in Electrical Engineering. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
