Description The Lead Delivery Department Manager is a key leadership role within the Technology Solutions Group. This individual will drive the strategic alignment between Technology Services and various business units within Burns & McDonnell. The manager will be instrumental in refining our engagement processes with BMI Delivery Managers, providing mentorship to Technology Leads within the Technology Solutions Group (TSG), and fostering healthy, productive relationships between TSG leadership, Engineering General Practices leadership, and other business enablement leaders throughout the organization.

Job Duties

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Technology Services Business Partners and Delivery Managers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance to act as effective strategic liaisons between their assigned business units and Technology Services.
  • Strategic Partnership: Oversee the teams efforts in establishing and maintaining healthy relationships with key stakeholders, including business unit executives, directors, and project managers.
  • Process Refinement: Define and refine the processes for how Technology Services engages with BMI Delivery Managers, ensuring clarity, efficiency, and seamless collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as a primary point of support for TSG leadership in cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships with Engineering General Practices leadership and business enablement leaders.
  • Technical & Business Translation: Guide the team in translating complex business needs into actionable technical requirements and ensuring Technology Services experts are connected to design, develop, and deploy effective solutions.
  • Performance & Reporting: Direct the coordination, preparation, and presentation of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to business units and executive leadership, ensuring strategic objectives are communicated and met.
  • Enablement & Support: Provide strategic support and guidance to the Tech Leads within TSG, helping to remove roadblocks and enabling the successful delivery of technology solutions.
  • Project Lifecycle Oversight: Ensure the team successfully supports the project lifecycle from initial requirements gathering and scope definition to final delivery and ongoing support.
  • Program Implementation: Implement, apply, and support company and department programs and initiatives, successfully navigating and managing change within the section.
  • Assessments & Security: Responsible for collaborating on assessments initiatives and cyber security risk.
  • Talent Management: Responsible for the recruitment, development, training, and retention of staff.
  • Performance Evaluations: Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for department staff.
  • Leadership Guidance: Provide leadership guidance and instruction to the department.
  • Policy Interpretation: Responsible for interpreting the organizations policies, purposes, and goals to staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related degree from an accredited program and eight (8) years of related professional experience in Information Security; OR High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of related professional experience in Information Technology required.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role with a strong ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals (preferable).
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level relationships with business and technology stakeholders (preferred).
  • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
  • Experience in facilitating collaboration between multiple teams and departments to drive successful outcomes (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban delivery methodologies is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of how to connect technology solutions to business needs and strategy (preferred).
  • Must possess a strategic perspective and strong strategic thinking, project management, and organizational skills.
