We are seeking a results-driven Cybersecurity Automation Engineer to join our growing security team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading cybersecurity automation initiatives, develop response workflows, and streamline incident management processes in enterprise environments.

This role is ideal for a candidate with strong experience in scripting, security platform integration, and cross-functional collaboration to improve cyber-resilience, reduce annual effort, and accelerate response times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of automated workflows for triaging and remediating security alerts
  • Build and maintain scripts and tools to support monitoring, reporting, and statistical analysis of cybersecurity metrics.
  • Collaborate with QA and threat detection teams to enhance incident response procedures and reduce false positives.
  • Work closely with divisional leadership and engineering teams to define automation roadmaps and improve platform stability.
  • Analyst security incident trends and performance metrics and recommend optimizations.
  • Integrate third-party tools and platforms such as Splunk, SOAR platforms, and REST APIs to automate repetitive security tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience, in cybersecurity operations, engineering, or automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Java, SQL)
  • Hands-on experience with tools and frameworks such as Splunk, Splunk SOAR, ServiceNow, Git, Jira.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, incident response workflows, and threat detection.
  • Familiarity with software development, lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Automation of incident triage and remediation
  • Designing and implementing metrics dashboards for cybersecurity operations
  • Experience with REST API integrations and SOAR platforms
  • Exposure to agile project management and roadmap development.

Our Lead Cybersecurity earns between $128,400-$192,600 USD Annual not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
