About the Team

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Alaska Behavioral Health provides confidential, high-quality behavioral healthcare services and local resource connection to post-9/11 veterans (including National Guard and Reserves), their families, active-duty service members and the families of active-duty service members, which includes spouse or partner, children, parents, siblings, caregivers, and others.

The Lead Clinician will work as a part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care. They will receive state-of-the-art training, clinical supervision, and support to provide the most effective, scientifically supported, evidence-based treatments available for to children, youth, adults, and families. We engage clinicians in continuous professional development to improve their clinical practice, learn new treatments, and achieve excellent patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

Provide a combination of program oversight, staff supervision and direct service provision for the Cohen Clinic

Provide evidence-based treatment to veterans, particularly those who served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their families (i.e., spouses, partners, parents, children). This includes individual, couples and family therapy to adults, adolescents, and children

Perform and document patient's screenings, psychosocial assessments, and progress and referral information. Conduct clinical intake assessments on veterans and family members as needed. Provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy to patients, with a focus on delivering evidence-based treatments

Collaborate and coordinate with the caregiver, physician, case management and all other disciplines to provide the best care to patients as needed

Work with leadership to establish training and development plan for clinical staff

Provide on-going program evaluation and recommendations to the Clinic Director for continuous growth and quality. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly program reports. Produce ad hoc reports as requested by Clinic Director

Pay Range is between $88,000 and $112,350 a year

Clinicians participate in regular individual and group supervision and are provided with additional training opportunities as part of our professional development plan.

AKBH offers generous benefits including two healthcare options for employees and their dependent children, 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% match, 4% automatically contributed by AKBH. PTO is accrued at the rate of five (5) weeks of PTO for the first year; eight (8) weeks of PTO after the first year. PTO is used for company recognized holidays.

AKBH consistently provides both individual and group clinical licensure supervision for our behavioral health providers who are working towards their post-master's and post-doctoral clinical licenses. The most common licenses for therapists in Alaska are Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Both require 100 hours of clinical supervision. Market rates for licensure clinical supervision are $150-$200 and hour. At 100 hours, that is a $15,000 to $20,000 value - and our staff receive it as a free benefit.

What We Need from You

You have a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program, or a Master's degree in social work and licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or a Master's degree in counseling and licensed to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); or a Master's degree in marriage and family therapy and licensed to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

You have knowledge in DSM V-TR diagnoses and experience in PTSD diagnoses and treatment.

You have experience working with military populations and/or Veterans
