Position Overview

The Lead Carpenter / Project Manager oversees 3–4 concurrent residential remodeling projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines hands-on construction expertise with project leadership, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of residential remodeling projects from pre-construction through final completion.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, designers, and internal team members to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Schedule, supervise, and hold subcontractors accountable for quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Apply carpentry and construction expertise to solve field challenges and maintain project momentum.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and change orders.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, enforce quality standards, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Identify risks and proactively resolve issues to minimize delays or cost overruns.
  • Deliver excellent client experience through clear communication and responsiveness.
  • Maintain organized job sites and accurate project documentation.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of residential construction experience, including strong carpentry skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of residential building codes, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and project budgets.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of a construction job site (e.g., walking, climbing, lifting).
  • Strong professional references.
