The Role: Your Impact

The Lead Bartender is responsible for the overall success and smooth operation of the bar, acting as both an expert mixologist and a hands-on shift leader. You will set the standard for quality, service, and efficiency, ensuring every guest experience exceeds the expectations of a luxury hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Training

  • Supervise Bar Staff: Provide guidance, coaching, and direction to the bartending and barback team during shifts, ensuring adherence to all hotel and brand standards.

  • Training and Development: Assist in training new bar staff on all beverage menus, drink recipes, product knowledge, guest service protocols, and cash handling procedures.

  • Set the Standard: Lead by example with exceptional performance, impeccable presentation, and a positive, professional demeanor.

Operations & Inventory

  • Inventory Control: Assist management with routine inventory counts and product ordering, ensuring optimal par levels and minimal waste.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all beverages are prepared and presented consistently and to the highest quality standards, utilizing proper garnishes and glassware.

  • Maintain Bar Cleanliness: Oversee the organization, cleanliness, and maintenance of all bar areas, equipment, and storage areas, strictly adhering to all health, safety, and ABC regulations.

  • POS & Cash Handling: Ensure accurate cash handling, proper use of the Point of Sale (POS) system, and accurate end-of-shift reporting.

Guest Experience

  • Expert Mixology: Prepare and serve a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, showcasing expertise in classic cocktails and house specialties.

  • Exceptional Service: Engage with guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner, anticipating needs, taking orders accurately, and making recommendations.

  • Responsible Service: Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible service of alcohol in full compliance with all state and local laws.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a high-volume Bartender, preferably in a hotel, fine dining, or upscale lounge environment.

  • Prior experience in a Lead Bartender or supervisory role is strongly preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and classic cocktail recipes. A passion for current trends in mixology is a plus.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain any required local or state alcohol service certification.

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills to manage a busy bar and lead a team simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with guests, servers, and management.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.

  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
