LEAD ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR Position Summary For over 40 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities for people aged 65 and older by offering a range of hospitality, wellness, and health care services. This role oversees activity programs across Enhanced Living and Skilled Nursing. It is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating resident engagement programs that promote meaningful experiences and a high-quality resident experience. The position ensures the consistent delivery of engaging, resident-centered programming. Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, this role supports family engagement while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and community goals. Develops and implements resident engagement programs across Enhanced Living and Skilled Nursing to enhance resident experience within the small-house model; evaluates effectiveness and adjusts programming based on resident needs, abilities, and preferences Facilitates group and individual engagements, including one-on-one interactions, independent activity pursuits, and weekly in-person and virtual visits Interviews residents and families to gather life history, preferences, and recreation interests per DPH regulations Maintains timely and accurate written and electronic documentation, including weekly resident notes capturing participation, behavior, and recommendations Supports resident assessments, evaluations, and transition planning between Enhanced Living and Skilled Nursing Trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates Coordinators ensuring adequate coverage within budget guidelines Submits payroll for direct reports and supports planning of monthly Activities staff meetings Collaborate daily with interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, and external partners to ensure resident needs are met Coordinates volunteer opportunities Communicates concerns, service issues, and challenges to the Director of Resident Engagement Develops and distributes monthly calendars and daily engagement materials, and coordinates activity requests and interdepartmental events Orders supplies, completes required documentation, and supports budget development and implementation Maintains organized and welcoming common areas to support resident experience Participates in household meal services, including preparation, cooking, and serving as needed Identifies and recommends technology and equipment improvements to enhance programming and operations Develop and implement specialized programming for the Belmont Memory Care community Meets department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirements Comply with all OSHA safety regulations, applicable local laws regarding health, safety, or environment

Education and Experience A Bachelor’s degree or 3 years’ experience preferred Certified Activity Professional preferred Proficiency with computer software programs Maintains First Aid, CPR, and other certifications and trainings Training and knowledge in recreational activities for a senior population is preferred Supervision, staffing, and scheduling experience preferred
