About the Opportunity:
Join us in Kansas City as a Lead A&P Mechanic with FAA Inspection Authorization (IA). We specialize in piston aircraft repairs and light turbine maintenance, and we’re looking for an experienced mechanic ready to lead a skilled team in a growing aviation operation.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft to FAA, customer, and company standards.
- Lead and schedule mechanics, apprentices, and technicians.
- Perform inspections, AD research, and maintenance on piston airframes, engines, and accessories.
- Coordinate with office staff and parts teams to maintain workflow and inventory.
- Estimate labor hours and materials while maintaining accurate records and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding updates and timelines.
- Mentor and support team members through coaching and oversight.
- Operate ground support equipment and assist with aircraft taxiing/run-ups as needed.
Requirements:
- Current FAA A&P certificate required.
- Minimum 2 years holding FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and general aviation systems.
- Experience leading or mentoring maintenance teams.
- Ability to estimate repair hours and materials accurately.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Light turbine maintenance experience preferred.
- EBIS/Veryon Work Center experience is a plus.
