Job Details

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Oversee the firm's day-to-day administrative and operational functions.
  • Serve as the primary operational partner to the Executive Committee and Shareholders.
  • Manage Human Resources including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, and benefits administration.
  • Lead hiring efforts for administrative and legal support staff.
  • Improve recruiting processes and hiring decisions.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Supervise administrative personnel including office support staff.
  • Partner with the firm's billing/bookkeeping department to oversee administrative financial operations.
  • Oversee vendor relationships including IT, office services, equipment, telecommunications, insurance, and facilities.
  • Coordinate with outsourced IT providers and serve as the firm's internal liaison.
  • Manage office space, facilities, equipment, and purchasing.
  • Assist leadership with strategic planning and firm initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and operational recommendations for the Executive Committee.
  • Improve workflow efficiency and administrative processes across the firm.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Support shareholder meetings and Executive Committee initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative office culture while maintaining accountability and professionalism.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Business, Human Resources, Management, or related field preferred).
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of law firm administration or legal operations experience.
  • Previous experience managing operations within a law firm.
  • Strong background in Human Resources, employee relations, recruiting, and performance management.
  • Experience supervising administrative professionals.
  • Experience overseeing law firm operations and office management.
  • Familiarity with legal billing, accounting processes, and budgeting.
  • Experience managing outside vendors including IT providers.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions.
  • Experience working directly with attorneys, partners, and executive leadership.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational responsibilities.
