Laundry Aide

Job Purpose:

• The Laundry Aide at EHM Senior Solutions is responsible for ensuring that all laundry services are provided in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. The role is crucial to maintaining the hygiene and comfort of residents by delivering clean and well-maintained linens and garments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, sort, and wash laundry items including linens, towels, and residents personal clothing.
• Operate laundry machines and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper handling of laundry chemicals and detergents according to safety guidelines.
• Inspect laundered items for cleanliness and damage, and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Fold, organize, and distribute clean laundry to designated areas and residents.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and equipment.
• Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying the supervisor of any shortages.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Provide exceptional service to residents and staff by responding promptly to laundry-related requests and concerns.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:

• Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is preferred but not required.
• Experience working in a healthcare or senior living environment is advantageous.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and proper handling of garments.
• Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with residents and staff professionally.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of cleaning agents and their proper use.
