Job Description:
Environmental services focus on maintaining clean, safe, and sustainable environments, encompassing tasks from sanitation to waste management and environmental monitoring.Environmental services jobs include positions such as Housekeepers and Laundry Aides, each with distinct responsibilities. These roles are essential for maintaining hygiene, safety, and environmental compliance in healthcare.
Responsibilities:
- Operate laundry equipment and machinery such as commercial washers, dryers, and ironing or pressing machines, following safety and sanitation guidelines
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold laundry items including linens, towels, clothing, and other textiles, ensuring proper handling of delicate fabrics and stain treatmen
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including laundry rooms, storage areas, and equipment, and ensure supplies are adequately stocked
- Inspect laundry items for stains, damages, or wear and report issues to supervisors
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and adherence to facility policies
- Support team members and perform additional duties as assigned to meet the facility’s laundry service demands
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not always required
- Experience: Prior experience in laundry, cleaning, or dry cleaning is advantageous but not essential
- Skills: Attention to detail, organizational skills, teamwork, and basic knowledge of laundry care and equipment operation
