Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager

Snell & Wilmer, one of the nation's leading full-service business law firms, is seeking a highly motivated and relationship-focused Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager to join our Attorney Talent Team. This position will play a key role in executing the firm's lateral attorney recruiting strategy, with a focus on attracting exceptional legal talent across our offices and practice groups.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic recruiter with outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, strong business judgment, and theability to manage multiple searches simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. You should possess a deep understanding of the legal profession and the attorney recruiting lifecycle.

Location: This position may be based in any Snell & Wilmer office. We welcome applications from qualified candidates in Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, Tucson, and Washington, D.C. The successful candidate's office location will be determined based on business needs and the candidate's qualifications.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as the lead recruiter for assigned lateral attorney searches, partnering closely with practice group leaders and firm leadership to identify hiring needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing initiatives to attract high-caliber attorney talent nationwide.
  • Conduct direct outreach to prospective candidates, communicate the value proposition of joining Snell & Wilmer, and cultivate long-term recruiting relationships.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer coordination, and candidate relationship management.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to maximize visibility of attorney opportunities through digital and social media channels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with legal search firms and other external recruiting resources.
  • Support the growth and engagement of the firm's alumni network to strengthen talent pipelines and generate future recruiting opportunities.

Recruiting Operations & Candidate Experience

  • Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting activity within LawCruit and internal recruiting databases.
  • Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews, including virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Prepare interview materials and facilitate the collection and distribution of interview feedback.
  • Track candidate progress throughout the recruiting process and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain candidate market maps and talent intelligence for strategic searches.
  • Generate recruiting reports, metrics, and pipeline updates to support hiring decisions and workforce planning initiatives.

Onboarding & Integration

  • Partner with Attorney Development, Human Resources, and firm leadership to facilitate the successful onboarding and integration of lateral attorneys.
  • Support initiatives designed to enhance the candidate experience and ensure smooth transitions for new attorneys joining the firm.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of attorney recruiting programs, processes, and best practices.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least 5 years of attorney recruiting experience in a law firm or legal recruiting environment.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with attorneys, search firms, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple recruiting searches simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruiting databases, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build credibility with attorneys, firm leadership, and candidates.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Strong knowledge of the legal industry, attorney recruiting market, compensation trends, and competitive intelligence.
    • Familiarity with LawCruit, Firm Prospects, or other legal recruiting platforms.
    • Knowledge of attorney onboarding, integration, and retention best practices.

The Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager role offers a salary range of $100,000.00 to $150,000.00. Compensation will vary based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and work location.
