Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator / Manufacturing Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting laser cutting equipment to support high-quality production in a fast-paced machine shop environment. The ideal candidate has strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines for production runs
- Interpret and execute laser programs with accuracy and efficiency
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications
- Operate hand, power, and pneumatic tools safely
- Use lifting equipment to move raw materials and finished products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and production guidelines
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machining principles (threads, keys, bearing fits, bushings)
- Knowledge of basic geometry and measurement techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical or production equipment
- Familiarity with laser cutting systems, programs, and controls
