The Landscape Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining cemetery grounds to ensure a clean, respectful, and well-manicured environment for visitors and families. This role requires experience operating small landscaping equipment and working in a cemetery setting with professionalism, attention to detail, and sensitivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, planting, and debris removal
Operate small equipment such as walk-behind mowers, blowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers and edgers
Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored properly
Always follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Work collaboratively with crew members and follow direction from Senior Crew Supervisors
Provide respectful service when working near funeral services and visiting families
Notifying crew supervisor immediately of unsafe working conditions or practices observed in the area

QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in landscape maintenance, preferably within a cemetery environment
Experience operating and maintaining small landscape equipment
Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely
Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
Understanding of safe equipment operation and basic mechanical troubleshooting
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under Senior Crew Supervisors
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience working in a cemetery, park, or large landscaped property preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills
Professional demeanor and sensitivity to cemetery operations
Must be physically able to operate power equipment
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and uneven ground and landscape slopes.
Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
