Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flower beds, and landscaped areas through mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, planting, and watering.
Inspect and maintain playground surfaces, fencing, walkways, parking lots, and outdoor equipment to ensure a safe environment for children and staff.
Remove litter, debris, leaves, and fallen branches from program grounds on a regular basis.
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and other power tools.
Perform seasonal landscaping duties such as mulching, planting, irrigation adjustments, and weather-related cleanup.
Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, irrigation issues, or facility concerns requiring repair.
Assist with setting up outdoor spaces for agency events and special activities.
Support general facility maintenance projects assigned, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
Maintain equipment and tools in safe operating condition and report maintenance needs.
Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, licensing requirements, OSHA regulations, and agency safety policies.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment inspection records and work orders.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations including severe weather preparations and severe weather cleanup
Work collaboratively with center staff to minimize disruptions during program operations.
Perform all duties as otherwise assigned by supervisor or MET Administration
