North East Trees is a community-based, non-profit organization that helps heal environmental injustice through urban forestry, nature-based design-build projects, habitat restoration, and workforce development. Our work in underinvested communities in Los Angeles County helps to build climate resiliency through stewardship, planting, design, and community engagement.

Overview of Responsibilities
This position will manage and coordinate the planning, design, construction and implementation of Design/Build projects. They will serve as team facilitator in assessing project requirements. They will help determine project implementation priorities. They will work with community and stakeholder groups to help make project determinations consistent with project goals.
Responsibilities include:
Provides project construction management, scheduling and manages budget
Determine project implementation priorities, options and goals in conjunction with other staff members
Manage multiple projects in coordination with other NET departments
Manages and/or collaborates with consultants
Obtain permits, prepare plans and specifications or illustrations as required to implement construction projects
Track outcomes and budget to ensure compliance with contracts
Provide technical guidance to staff, consultants and contractors for project implementation
Engage the community through meetings and presentations independently and in conjunction with the Community Engagement Manager.
Assist in the preparation of grant funding applications, project reports or other development documents as needed.
Qualifications/Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proficient in software applications for landscape architecture including Auto CAD,
Adobe Suite, ESRI ArcGIS, Sketch-Up, and MS Office Suite
Proficient in freehand, graphic and digital media presentation and visua communication skills; able to develop schematic and preliminary design illustrations
Expertise with California native and other drought tolerant plants, familiar with green stormwater practices; LID infrastructure development and ecological relationships
Proficient in all phases of project development including preparation of
Construction Documents and construction management
Able to demonstrate successful project budgeting and scheduling
Ability to work in a team towards project design and implementation
Experience with permitting processes from a variety of government agencies;
Spanish language skills preferred
Education and Experience:
BS Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
A combined three years of recent and relevant experience in planning & construction project management and implementation.
Licenses:
Valid California Class C driver’s license
License in Landscape Architecture
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
